Commission a Pet Portrait

Media Options

I primarily offer custom pet art commissions in either black and white or full colour pastel. My equipment includes Pan Pastels, which are condensed pastel pigments that allow me to establish a quality base layer to build detail upon. I always use Claire Fontaine Pastel Mat paper, as it provides the perfect foundation for applying the pastels. Finally, I utilize multiple layers of Pastel Pencils, enabling me to capture and create a detailed and true likeness in my pet portraits of your beloved animal.

Final Touches

When you commission a portrait, it will always include a black mount-board frame with a contrasting colour bevelled edge. This really showcases the portrait, creates a beautiful border, and highlights your pet portraits when framed.

I also offer several framing options to ensure your custom pet art is a truly finished piece of art, saving you the hassle of thinking about framing once purchased. We can discuss multiple colour options and sizes to suit the colour themes of the room where it will hang.

Along with your finished portrait, your commission will also come with a signed certificate of authenticity and a care guide.

Production Time-frames

Due to existing commission commitments, I am not always able to produce custom pet art in a short period of time. We will be able to discuss a suitable time-frame for your piece when you contact me to commission a portrait. These pet portraits can take over 12 hours to create depending on the level of detail required. I will always endeavor to meet any important key dates you may have.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have an occasion in mind.

Throughout the commission, I will keep you up to date with progress and even send you some sneaky photos if you would like (although I do find that waiting until the final reveal is the preferred option).

When the time comes that the piece is finished, I can either send photos (which never do the final piece justice) or can arrange a video call where you can see the portrait in all its glory. I will always ask if you want anything changed or added, which is never a problem; I want to ensure you are truly happy with the result.

We can then arrange what the best postage method is for you. I am more than happy to meet in a convenient location if not traveling too far away. I love to see the client's reaction!

What do I need to provide?

To commission a portrait of your beloved pet, the quality of the reference photo is crucial. The clearer the photo, the better the results will be for your custom pet art. Having multiple reference photos of your pet can be beneficial, and we can collaborate to determine the best angle or pose for the pet portraits. I understand that the subject may be a pet who went over the rainbow bridge many years ago, and photos might not always be clear or of high quality, but I will always strive to work my magic with what I have.

I ask for a 50% deposit of the final price at the time of booking. This deposit will secure your commission in my calendar, allowing me to focus on creating your piece of art. The final balance, which includes postage and packing, is due once you have approved the completed portrait and before shipping.

Gift Vouchers

Not sure what to buy for that special person in your life? I also offer gift vouchers, allowing you to commission a portrait or choose a custom pet art piece, with the value entirely up to you. Alternatively, you can specify a product, such as pet portraits, that you would like to purchase. The recipient can then get in touch with me at their convenience to discuss the finer details.
